King IV Stands Her Ground In Thumping New Track 'Bump'
There’s something so captivating about dark electronica. Songs with spines made of thick basslines and sinister synths have the ability to immerse you in a completely different world for a few minutes, acting as breeding grounds for artists to take on a persona that’s strong, self-assured and commanding in every way possible. King IV’s new track Bump is nothing short of this, reaching a peak in intensity we’ve seen brewing since the Melbourne artist’s 2016 debut.
Bump follows on from the previous single We Can Get It – a number that was complimented by a remix EP from local legends Donatachi, Ok Sure, Future Strangers and Ronan. While the two songs share similarities, King IV’s latest thumper grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you around with great velocity. Rather than being brooding, Bump takes darkness to a fierce level by spitting words of fire at us about what it’s like to continuously crave more in life to the point of losing yourself in your surroundings, just to feel something. This offering marks a huge step up from King IV in both musicality and attitude, which we can only expect to grow over the next year.
You can catch King IV at Melbourne Music Week this month, where she’ll be playing at Heightened Awareness alongside SAATSUMA, Peachnoise, Mezko and more. For more info click HERE. Check out our must-sees of this year's Melbourne Music Week HERE.
